Hello and Welcome.

Therapy is an opportunity for us to uncover a deeper understanding of ourselves so we can begin to find more ease and fulfillment in our day to day.

It is about embracing that oftentimes there’s nothing to “fix”, and instead our task is to slow down, notice and then exercise self-compassion.

I work with clients who are seeking a safe space to process, in their own time, recent and past trauma, challenging family and relationship dynamics, as well as clients who are exploring gender and sexual identity. I enjoy working with clients who this might be there first time seeking support from a therapist.

Approach

Life is uncomfortable. Therapy ultimately boils down to radical acceptance and self-compassion. Radical acceptance is our ability to welcome in our thoughts, feelings, and experiences with open arms; especially when they are uncomforable. Self-compassion is the practice of treating yourself with the kindness and generosity you would give a friend. If we cannot access these core practices, we may continue to feel like we are walking upstream. We live in a society that idolizes perfection at the expense of mental wellbeing. The mere practice of trusting this can be liberating. And that’s part of the work -- accepting that we weren’t born to be perfect. We are ever-changing and ever-growing.

We live in a world woven with a multitude of anxieties. This is startlingly apparent now as we navigate society’s waking up to the realities of systemic racism, the impact of COVID-19 and the devastating realities of climate change (to name a few). Now more than ever, finding a space to process these realities is crucial to our mental well-being.
